Our concept

The Art4Peace movement embodies the power of art in preventive diplomacy: to find the common ground, to try to understand each other, and to remind us of the basic message of the United Nations — we have to create and nurture peace together.

Ambassadors are invited to introduce an artifact and an artist from their countries to demonstrate the power of art in creating harmony during the days of disharmony. The result is a respectful and transformative exchange of different thoughts and ideas through artistic dialogue.

Peace wears many forms. It is not a detached idea nor a mere symbol, but a way of being – embracing social equality, care for the environment, reverence for history and tradition, the flow of everyday life, the pursuit of knowledge, and the promise of growth. Peace means life itself, in its most natural state.

Every artwork is singular, every artist singular – as every human being is. And when our own voices falter, it is art that rises to speak for us, so that together our presence forms a chorus impossible to ignore.
